Believing in 2019
There’s this John Mayer song called Belief and there’s a line that has always stuck with me.
“We’re never gonna beat this if belief is what we’re fighting for.”
That applies to so many things in life, doesn’t it? Relationships, family, friends, work, etc. To me, it’s saying we can have differences of opinion about any and everything, but we need to find common ground, understand how we can make others feel, and learn to live knowing we can all be happy.
I believe in a lot of things, like a lot of people believe in a lot of things. Of course, as I get older, evolve and my life takes me to new places and experiences, those beliefs change — and sometimes I start to believe in new things. And, just like the song hints — I’ve also learned that I don’t need to explain why I believe in certain things because you might not — and that’s cool, too. So, with 2018 coming to a close, here’s what I believe in:
Saying “I’m sorry” and meaning it.
Compassion for everyone.
The unconditional love of animals.
A good pair of gloves.
Good always wins over bad.
There’s no such thing as a ‘guilty’ pleasure.
Motherhood is no joke — physically, mentally and emotionally.
Motherhood is the greatest joy I never knew I could feel.
Standing up for those who are weak.
Only taking advice from people whose life/job/etc. I admire/would want.
Karma will getcha — good and bad.
Recycling, reusable shopping bags and straws.
It’s only a joke if the other person finds it funny.
Forgiveness has a punch card limit — then it’s just who they are. shrug
Real Housewives shows are becoming toxic.
Staying current with technology is important.
Going after what makes me happy.
Only children are some of the coolest people I’ve ever met. I’m also biased but it’s true for me.
2019 is going to be interesting.
Happy NYE! See you next year! HAHAHA — I’ve always loved that corny joke.
(If you didn’t laugh, it obviously wasn’t a joke though)
