More random than ever
TGIF, folks. TGIF, indeed. I need a brain purge. So, let's be random!
The song that my husband and I chose to play while we were introduced for the first time as husband and wife was "Shine Bright" by John Brown's Body. I don't know if you know them, but you should. Give it a listen after the jump, while you read the rest of this post. That's my Friday gift to you.
I think my most favorite part of my mornings (aside from Moxie) is watering my flowers. I also talk a little bit to them, like, "Mornin' lil' flowers, have a great day" or something silly/possibly insane like that - and I'm convinced that's why they continue to grow and blossom. I'm a great flower mom.
I cannot stand baggy jeans on anyone - but especially women, and especially when they drag across the floor. Wearing jeans does not = getting to look like a slob. Clean it up, ladies! The "sk8r look" went out with the 90s...and your adolescence.
Speaking of jeans...
Who makes your favorite jeans? I'm all about that JCrew, baby. Yeah, they're pricey ($115, often plus a 30% off code online), but they fit me better than most, and last as long as you want them to. I have a pair from 5+ years ago that started off as a dark, dressy pair - and now they're my faded, ripped, casual weekend pair.
Also - leggings are not to be worn with a short top/sweater. Unless you're cleaning your toilet.
Do you prefer Spotify over Pandora, or vice versa? Or, something else? I have to say, I like Spotify better, as I enjoy the pre-made playlists based on their many, very specific genres like "Hanging out and relaxing", "Weekend hangouts", and "Stoner songs."
I don't get 'holiday nails.' Like, why do you need to have ghosts and black cats on your nails for Halloween, and holly berries for Christmas? To remind yourself what time of year it is when you're at home cooking dinner, or something?
I (sort of) miss northeast weather this time of year. I want beef stew in a crockpot with crusty bread. Somehow, that type of meal just isn't as comforting in 80-degree weather. #notcomplaining
If you're looking for something delicious and refreshing to drink - I strongly recommend the Cool Lime Refresher from Starbucks. It tastes similar to a mojito without the rum. So, just pretend.
I refuse to ever put my handbag on the floor/ground, because of the superstition "A purse on the floor is money out the door."
I still read the Times Union blogs.
I think Gwen Stefani being on The Voice is totally ruining the show and her, for me. I used to think she was so cool and smart. She's not smart. She's really just a one-trick pony with her "I'm just a girl" statements over and over. If you don't watch The Voice, just trust me on this one.
Like what is this? It looks delicious.
I'm terrified of Ebola.
Uber is pretty awesome. Honestly, I don't know much about how it works because my husband has the app on his phone, so he makes the arrangements, but I do know that I prefer someone's private car in lieu of a stinky taxi.
I wish I had a different go-to cocktail than a vodka-soda or martini when we go out to live music, or something like that. Like, I wish I had a name, or even a simple, delicious recipe in my back pocket that I could tell a bartender to make, and it was short enough to say that they didn't hate me for it. Suggestions are welcome, if you have any.
Other than that, cheers! I'm ready for the weekend.
And wasn't that song awesome?!
