Come on over (but stay away)

If you’re a social human, you might be having a hard time right now with social distancing. If you’re more like me…you’re not totally hating it. It’s not that I don’t like being around people — I do. But, I also value alone time so, so much. I think it’s an only child thing.

Of course, grocery shopping, bank errands, picking up prescriptions, doctor’s appointments and more require going out in public. But, now — more than ever…people are in need of services that come to them, due to the coronavirus and social distancing and all. I’ve been cancelling/rescheduling doctor’s appointments, dinner dates, get-togethers and have been placing online grocery orders (some with a lot of luck, some with less of course), and wish my area (Albany, NY) had that RepairSmith car service I’ve talked about before!

If you didn’t know, RepairSmith offers upfront pricing, online booking, after-hours support, and a service warranty. Can you imagine not having to sit in an auto shop, watching time tick by as you keep pulling out wet wipes, nervously looking around at who’s coughing? Their expert mechanics will take care of your whip as you relax in your germ-free home…with your wine and Cheetos. But enough about me. (psst — you can also check out their cool new blog for car tips/info)

In the cases of unexpected car issues, RepairSmith emails the customer a list of suggested services/repairs with the cost breakdown, so the customer can decide what they feel is necessary to get done and when is convenient for them. I mean, it literally cannot be easier. PLUS — no surprise and potentially awkward interactions about car parts you know nothing about, have zero time to research and yet — have to make a snap decision about. Nope. None of that. You can take care of other life things like stocking up on toilet paper and Cloroxing everything in sight…then when you can, get to that email about what your car needs. Then, simply schedule it, and forget about it.

DO I NEED TO START A PETITION TO GET REPAIRSMITH HERE.

I can’t help but think about who could really, truly benefit from this amazing service. Immune-compromised folks, the elderly, people with respiratory conditions, etc. I think (hope) our communities and society has learned a lot from this difficult time so far, and one thing that has been shoved into the spotlight for me, is how much we all need to take care of each other, and make special considerations for those in delicate situations. I’m really hoping more companies like RepairSmith pop up and offer not only convenience — but peace of mind.

We could sure use some of that, right?
